A humanist funeral can be what ever you want it to be. It can be designed to reflect the person who had died.
For me to deliver standard single slot crematorium service will usually cost you £275 plus any essential expenses.
For longer services or very complex planning this cost may be higher. Burials start at the same price.
The price for a Memorial will need to be negotiated as there are more variables but it is unlikely to be very expensive.
If you are in difficult circumstances I am open to reducing fees if there is a hardship issue.
Humanists believe we have just the one life and that we should live it well. We don’t follow any creed or faith, but are confident that people can build a meaningful society based on reason, co-operation and trust.

As a humanist I would not lead any kind of religious service, prayer or other faith based observance.
A ritual gesture is very welcome, and be a touching moment in a sevice. The scattering of soil or flowers are common but you can create your own.
If a hymn or piece of scripture has been significant in a persons life of course it can be included: Jerusalem is loved by rugby fans who many of who don’t think of it as a hymn.
It is also usual to make space in a service for people of faith to reflect and make the observances that match their beliefs.
Humanism can include everyone.

You can choose who leads your service, if your funeral director hasn’t worked with me you can ask them to get in touch. Your service is not a fixed package, I work with them not for them.
It is very common for you to have found me via a funeral director, and the vast majority of ceremonies will be a collaboration between the celebrant and a professional funeral service. The payment will often be included in this package. It it can make payment simpler for you. But I am always working for the person whose service is being planned and for their family and friends.
